This short note is meant to help you visualize how simple it can be to attract and sell to foreign clients. I emphasize how easy it is because I want you to feel that the strategy can be done without stress.
The concept is built around two strategies:
1. Targeting indigenous buyers living outside the country.
2. Targeting completely foreign buyers.
In this note, we’ll focus on the first strategy — using Instagram to reach local clients living abroad.
We do this using a 14-day ads setup targeting 5–7 non-African countries. There are two criteria for selecting these countries.
First, the country must speak the same official language as your country. Second, its average monthly wage must be at least 12.5 times higher than your country’s average monthly wage. This second criterion is essential for getting the best results.
Once you identify your target countries, 60% of the work is done.
From there, you set up a lead campaign that begins with potential buyers commenting on your property listings. Based on my personal experience, the buying intent of diaspora clients is extremely high — more than 80% of international prospects who reach out end up buying. This is largely due to the economic difference between African wages and those abroad.
When a prospect comments, our prebuilt ManyChat automation system immediately sends them a proposal with sales contact details and listing information. This automation filters out low‑quality leads, ensuring that only serious buyers reach you. It’s designed to give you clarity and ease, so you can focus on high‑intent clients.
As a bonus, I’ll share a strategy you won’t find anywhere else: targeting local buyers who have traveled outside Africa more than once. We’ve seen an incredibly high success rate with this approach.
I’m open to discussing these strategies with you and helping you understand exactly how to set up any of the three. Below, you’ll find a link to my calendar where you can schedule a free seven-minute session.
